It’s time for Grocery Friday!
Every Friday, I’m going to highlight a great grocery item I’ve discovered. I’m really a pretty terrible cook - I’m much better at assembling. I’m also a big snacker, so it will probably lean more in that direction as well. Basically, I don’t know how many times I’ve pulled some health/diet product off the shelf and contemplated it for ages, wondering if it was really any good or if it would taste like cardboard. I’m hoping to be able to help offer some products I’ve tried, so you at least know that someone out there didn’t waste the $4.99 for a box of crackers, or whatever.
First up, we have Skinny Pop popcorn. I am a total popcorn freak, and could probably chow through this whole bag in one sitting if I let myself (I promise I don’t). I usually see them for $3.99 in gourmet grocery stores, but have also recently found them in my local Pathmark (yay!). This snack is only 39 calories per cup, so I can fill a nice sized bowl for under 200 calories! It’s extremely satisfying. In terms of taste, it has a nice, light butter flavor. I also like to add some popcorn seasonings to it (I prefer Target brand) for a different flavor. Happy shopping!
